As a woman I must admit that I have fallen victim to the traditional Happily Ever After theory. It seems like I have let myself become brainwashed into thinking that all my woes will be healed when Prince Charming comes and rescues me by making me a Mrs. Do we get Happily Ever After in life?
After thinking about this I do think we all can have our own "Happily Ever After". And the only person it requires is you! Why has it taken me almost 28 years to figure this out? Because we are put here in this life to figure things out for ourselves but we do have guidance while doing this. I love it. Maybe I'm just in a good mood today and tomorrow I will disagree but today, I love it.
Not to mention the whole prince charming theory puts a lot of pressure on a man. No one can heal all the past pain, etc but they can make it worth it. And that is all I am looking for. My life is exactly what is suppose to be right now. I have had a great year so far and can't wait to see what else 2009 has in store for me. I have been blessed to have incredible people in my life, friends and family that can not be surpassed. I have a firm testimony of the gospel, no matter what life throws my way I can rest assured that the ending will be happy.
So, I guess what I am trying to say is, I am living my Happy Ever After!

I remember you having me write about happily ever after. It kind of boils down to a personal choice to live happily ever after. I love you.
it does put a lot of pressure on the man. it's best when both have found their happy ever after, then they can live it together!
I think that the only problem in believing in happily ever after is thinking that it will come with out work. Life is Hard work. But that is what makes it so worth it. Miss our talks!! The phone is just not the same.
Elder Holland said that he thought marriage brought would bring him to the end of his troubles, he just didn't realize which end! (Tru dat!) I know you've been waiting for a long time, but it's worth it to find your true companion!
AMEN SISTA!!
Happily Ever After is an unnatural and unrealistic notion ingrained into our brains by every book and movie intended for young malleable and impressionable minds! We look at the world around us and know that its not true, but something within us keeps up the hope that we will be the special one that finds this Happily Ever After Land. Sounds very stagnant and boring really. Life is all about the ups and downs, its the downs that help us recognize the ups! There is no such thing as Prince Charming, cause he can't possibly keep that up forever and I know that I would feel inferior if he didn't display one human frailty. And I'm certainly no Cinderella.
