Charity Freakin Eaton

I love my little sister. She is my fave. I hate that she wasn't in the below picture. It makes me sad. I'm crying, real tears. BOOHOO. She dresses good, she steals my boyfriends, it is awesome. Thanks Charity for the good times and memories. You smell good.

Old School

Just thought some of the family would enjoy this. There are a few things I love about this picture. 1) I love how old it is. This is, as you can tell, before Charity! 2) What is it with Renee's hair. 3) Umm, our clothes, this was the 80's. 4) I love how close mom was/is with her parents. My dad isn't even the photo with us. 5) Looking at this picture reminds me of how much fun it was to have a large family. Yes, we fought, a lot, but we were friends. We ran outside together, swam in the "Lake", walked on wheel barrows, played Ninja turtles and barbies, we were all partners in crime. It was so much fun. Not to mention Mamaw and Papaw always spoiled us. When we were young Renee and I use to spend the night over there all the time. They would take us grocery shopping with them and let us get all sorts of yummy snacks. They also paid us for helping clean the house and mowing the yard. Those were good days. I am still glad that I have each of my sisters and brothers. We still fight, but we are all best friends. I know that I can depend on any of them for anything.

The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. ~Erma Bombeck

Picture of Perfection

Most of our young lives we have a picture of perfection in our minds for our future. I'll be 27 in a mere 20 days. This has caused much unwanted reflection and pondering on my part. I have been doing some soul searching, whatever that means. What am I doing to meet my goals and what exactly are these goals.

I just wanted to see how many of you are living the life you thought you would. When you were younger did you imagine things very different?

Naturally when you are young you imagine growing up and having the perfect life. This would be for most the best job, family, house, a great car, you're social, you love your neighbors, etc but does this really ever happen for anyone? I don't think it's a bad thing that it doesn't happen it's just, I don't know how to explain it. Different. Anyways, I was just thinking about this. I've accomplished a lot in life, I have a Masters degree, I have a decent job, I have great friends, I have my health, and blah blah blah. So I'm not complaining, just contemplating.
Who doesn't want the whole white picket fence. (Of course the white picket fence has become an icon. The picket fence has become a symbol of property ownership and an embodiment of a key component of the so-called American dream. When people discuss the picket fence today, they are usually doing so metaphorically as am I in this instance!)

I had fun!

I must say I need sleep. This weekend was fun but having a lack of the zzzz's doesn't work for me. Friday night Charity and I went to the branch's pool party. It was pretty fun. Before hand we went swimsuit shopping with Tori. We were at Kohl's and saw this cute dress on sale so we all got one as our swimsuit covers. I think they are pretty cute! IWe went to the pool party and stayed for a while. It started raining so we all hung out under the covered deck. Hello, there was lightening. We decided to go and find something else to do. We decided to go hang out the the APEX boys. First we had to change out of our swim attire. We did this in the mall parking lot. It was dark! We had fun that night. I was just really tired and needed to wake up early to go to the temple.
I did wake up and it was a great session. I love going so much. Especially at this time in my life when I feel like I have nothing figured out. This has come as a great stress to me, seeing as I have always had it figured out. I had myself thinking I had it figured out but ofcourse for some reason this year, it's hit me, I'm lost.

Totally off subject but this is the first year I'm not excited for my birthday. I love my birthday and I am always excited for it. But this year is different. I think it is because I looked at my goals and where I wanted to be in life and I am not there. Oh well, I'm working on it.

After the temple I had to go home so that I could 1) prepare my lesson and 2) go hang out with some of my jackson friends to celebrate Chrystal's 30th birthday! It was fun. We ate at Buffalo Wild Wings, saw the worst movie ever made (I told them it was going to be bad but it wasn't my birthday), and then went to Starbucks for some chatting. These girls are so much fun. But I was planning on being home by 10 to prepare the lesson but that didn't happen. I got home around midnight prepared my lesson, started a movie and went to bed. 7:30 came around way to early Sunday morning. My lesson went really well. But now it was time to drive to the singles branch. To make this much too long blog short. We stayed in Memphis way too late and I didn't get home until 3:30 am, got in bed by 4 and got back out of bed at 6 (which was late). But I've had a lot of fun getting to know the people in my branch. They are a lot of fun. So anyways, I'm out. I'm just glad I can go home and take a nap.

Youthful, Energetic, and Perky! Was that ever me?

Charity is home from her first year of college. This has caused me to think about a few things. One being what I was like at 19. I've talked to Candice and Nina about this and know their thoughts so sorry if you have to re-hear this.

I think it was last week I was talking to my mom and Charity. I made mention of how was I suppose to find someone to take me on a date when Charity was home. People naturally love her. My mom said, "People are just attracted to Charity's personality, that is just who she is." So I said, "Don't you think people are attracted to me?" This is where it gets sad, she said do you want me to be honest. I knew at that very moment I did not want to hear what she was about to say. The answer was NO, I do not attract people. That is not the worst, she went on to why I don't. It made me feel kinda bad about myself. But I have had time to ponder on this and have come to a grand conclusion. Charity is only 19 years old. Everyone is a lot perkier, youthful, and peppy at 19. Myself included.

This was brought up again yesterday at the singles branch as I was talking to one of Charity's friends that is just like her. It's the age. They have not become jaded by life. I am not saying that there aren't older perky people but it's a lot easier at 19. I'm not saying they are care free. I know they have to worry about school, finances, dating but it's different.

I feel much better about myself now. Don't you think you had a lot more energy at 18-19! I can't compete with the younger girls. But hopefully that the boys that I want to date don't want to date them! This is not always the case, there have been boys that I have liked that like Charity but that's life. She's cute and energetic. I don't blame them. Not to mention I know that there is someone out there who is being prepared for me.

I know this was a lot of rambling but it is just what I've had on my mind lately. And when you write things it actually helps! I have an article on that.

8 Random Facts

1. I never really thought I would finish college. The only reason I started was I thought it would be fun to live in Idaho. Now I have my Master's degree.

2. I know this may change when I have one but I want 7 kids. I am beginning to think I might have to rethink this.

3. I go to the Single's Branch most Sundays. On my way there I tell myself I am going to make new friends today. Then I get there and usually only talk to the people that rode up with me.

4. I've always wanted to skydive but think it would scare me to the death. There are a lot of adventerous things I want to do. The older I get the less I want to do them. I think it is because the older you get the more you value your life.

5. I spent a few hours last night looking at jobs in NYC. That's pretty random!

6. I am horrible at dieting because I really enjoy food. It makes me happy. I guess I better marry someone who appreciates food as much as I do.

7. I love sarcastic people. They really make me laugh! I don't want them to be mean but I love the humor of it all.

8. In July I am going to Florida, Seattle and Michigan. I don't own a single pair of shorts (besides the ones you exercise in). I guess I have to go shopping. I can't wear jeans in Florida!

Life's tough, but I'm tougher

No, I'm not having a bad day at all. Its actually been really good. I started off with a walk with Nina at 5:40 this morning. That has left me feeling really good and more energetic than usual. I've been sitting here at work doing mundane task and thinking. You have a lot of time to think when your task does not require any brain power. Life is hard. It throws a lot of things at you and you have to act fast to keep up. Sometimes we know why certain things happen and sometimes we never figure it out. But the key is to keep moving and progressing. The people who are suppose to love you the most have the ability to hurt you the worst. But, with that said, we still have to love them and trust them not to hurt us. We can't close people or things out because we are scared to be hurt. I've missed opportunities in life because I was scared the result wouldn't be what I wanted. The problem was I never tried so I don't know how it would have turned out. How many times in life have I left things unsaid, not tried, etc. I am going to TRY to stop being like that. To go for it. Because isn't that what it's all about. We are suppose to be happy and we are in charge of that. Besides, all things are possible. I'll agree with Candice on this, 2008 is great.
