I promise any adult that works in a school system is more excited than the students when the phone call comes and you hear, "School is out tomorrow." That is pure joy. I instantaneously start making a list of all the things I need to accomplish. I can run errands I have been putting off. I can rearrange my apartment. I can do anything. And on top of it all I can stay up late! Oh the beauty. Of course it is short lived and naturally I accomplish almost nothing on my list of to do's. For some reason I don't catch up on my rest, I don't get the closet cleaned out, I don't do anything out of the ordinary.
I loved my snow days. Monday, I woke up and thought, "I should make Brent breakfast in bed". While I was cooking he woke up and that was that. James called when I was just about done cooking and invited us there for breakfast. So we took what I had made and headed over to eat breakfast with the birthday girl, Elle Kate. Then we went out and made snow angels, had a snow ball fight, and made a snow man. We headed home for the morning. I went to Costco with James and Kara. After Elle decided she wanted to come over to our place. Then while looking at our engagement pictures on the carousal stated she wanted to ride the carousal on her birthday. I needed to go to the mall anyways so we went. The stores I needed to go to closed because of the weather! But we got a cookie and rode the carousal, and Elle was happy.
Monday night I got a phone call saying we would be out Tuesday too. I was so happy. Brent was not out but I was still so happy to be at home. I decided to make a few dinners so I could just heat them up on the night I was going to cook them. Charity came over and we went and worked out. Then we got Elle and headed to the mall. I needed to get Charity a bday present. Mission accomplished. We went back to my apartment and hung out. I went visiting teaching. While I was gone Brent got home and Robert came over. So when I got home we had dinner. I was praying for another school closing phone call but knew it was too much to ask. You can only get so lucky.
So yesterday I went back to work. It was a long hard day! It was busy busy busy. But at the end of it I was so grateful to have a job. I'm blessed. I found out the Social Security office lost all my paperwork for my new card. That's a pain because it takes a long time there. I work full time so it is never opened when I am off. So the first time Charity went and stood in line for 45 minutes. I was so frustrated that she wasted her time. So Jenn and Levi came over last night and said they would go for me today. She went to the office and they were experiencing some technical delays so she left and said she'd try again tomorrow. I sure hope this time it works.

Is it even possible
I'm not sure if it is even possible but I feel busier than ever. Well, actually maybe this past summer while I was working, going to school and did girls camp was busier but still life is busy. I'm not complaining, I enjoy it all but I could use a breather. I'm praying for snow so I can catch up.
I wonder how I got so behind. I think our trip to California through me off. I didn't have to cook and clean, etc so I think I may haven gotten a little lazy. My days are still very routine. I am good with routines and I think I am one of those people who deal better with one. But wow, busy busy busy is who I am. Guess I gotta get back in my groove.

Happy
I know I know! I am that girl! That girl that wants to always talk about how happy she is and about how wonderful her husband is. And tell you all the sweet things he does for me. I even want to tell you all the quirky things about him and this and this and this.
This is my first week back at work. It has been a really long week. The days seem long, the mornings come early, and I can't accomplish all my task before bedtime. When I think about it I think how much it stinks. But I don't really feel like it stinks at all. In theory it does, I don't like spending 2.5 hours a day driving but I am okay with it for now. I am okay working while my husband is in school. Only 2 more years and I'll be a stay at home mom and Brent will be making the money. But until then, I will wake up how ever early, to work and support us. I'm grateful to have a job where we can live comfortably. The afternoons are equally as busy as the work day. I get home between 4:30-5 everyday unless I have an afterschool meeting, I've been prepping dinner, then when Brent gets home we go work out. After we work out, he showers while I finish dinner. It's a busy life, one that I wouldn't trade......for now. And who knows, it might not be 2 years before I'm a stay at home mom. Guess we'll see what the future holds.

Adamson Family
I'm waiting until my new sister-in-laws realize that we really are going to be great friends and they have lots to say to me. Like so and so is so cute or maybe I should move, or whatever they want to say. I've gotten use to Amy and Kara, and I am good friends with them. I just have to give the Adamson's a little bit of time. Not everyone wants to instantly be best friends. I'll win them over sooner or later. Bryant, Brent's brother, is a pretty funny guy in a sarcastic type of way. And I just happen to love sarcasm so it's great. Jana, the mom, she's great. Of course she is a mother and worries that everything is going good and wanted to make sure I felt comfortable etc. And Reed, Brent's dad, is such a nice guy. I swear he has a twinkle in his eye. Brent makes fun of me for saying this, but it's true. I love these people!

New Year....New Me
This man
Loves
This Woman.....ForeverHappy 2011 everyone! I am so excited for this new year. Last year was the best year of my life so far and I know it can only get better. It was so nice ringing the New Year in with Brent! I love having him home with me in the evenings. It was nice us both being off school and work and getting to hang out together over Christmas break. That's the most time we've ever been together and at the end of it all.......we not only still love each other but we still like each other. We've been married 6 weeks and so far it's been nothing but blissful. Sure we've had bills to pay, and life throw things at us, but as long as we have each other, we feel like we can overcome it all. Life is no easier, I'm still exactly who I am and he is still exactly who he is but together, we are great. We are perfect for each other. There is nothing about this man that I would make him change.
Me on the other hand, there are things I need to change. And so here it is, my new year's resolutions.
1) I will work on being more patient with others. Kids I can handle, adults, they are a whole new story. Even if I think they are being dumb I need to learn to be patient and hear them out.
2) I need to lose 15 pounds. I need to lose a lot more than that but 15 is completely a reasonable goal so that is what I'll aim for.
3) I want to get better at my own scripture study and personal prayers. As a couple we do this but I know I need to be doing it on my own.
4) I want to serve people more often. I want to be a better visiting teacher.
5) I want to learn to cook better and new things. I wish I could take a cooking class. That'd be so much fun.

Jenn's Wedding
Jenn and Levi were sealed December 31st in the Memphis Temple and I felt truly blessed to be a part of this celebration. They are perfect for each other and I couldn't be happier for them. Brent and I flew back in on December 29th and the wedding festivities started then. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to her bachelorette party that night, I was way too exhausted from the traveling but I got up early the next morning to meet her for all the wedding fun. It's funny, she apologized to me for thinking I was a brat my wedding week. She told me she completely understands now. It's true, weddings are stressful and your own is the most stressful of all. Not to mention I think that Satan is trying extra hard that week. Trying to prevent you from starting this new part of eternity. I'm glad that Jenn understands this now.
I had lots of fun with her. I know it was crazy for her but it was still so nice. She looked gorgeous! I know that on the way to the temple she called having a freak out moment but that's hard to even remember because once she was in the temple, it was calm and beautiful and perfect. I think people get to freak out a little on their wedding morning. I give everyone a free pass this day.
Her reception was so nice. It was held downtown at the train station. I'm glad to have Jenn in my life. I understand her crazy and she gets mine. So it makes for a great combination. Jenn, I love you to pieces. Thanks for sharing this day in your life with me. I know things didn't go perfectly but the most important thing did. You are a married lady now.....for time and all eternity! I love it and you!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
The "Full House" house
Wax Museum
We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge
At our Bed and Breakfast
The Jelly Belly Factory
We went to the beach and played one day. Loved it.This Christmas we decided to go to CA for Christmas. And it was lovely. I can't say it enough how lucky I am to have the Adamson's as my family now too. I'm sure they think I'm quirky, and maybe they don't always catch my sarcasm, but they are some of the most wonderful people.
Brent and I arrived super late on December 16th so Julie picked us up from the airport and let us stay the night with her. Thanks Julie! It was good seeing her and so nice of her to let us sleep in her bed, I was completely prepared to sleep on the couch. The next morning she headed off to jury duty and dad/Reed came and picked us up. I love him~I swear he has a twinkle in his eye. He took us to go see Grandma and Grandpa Adamson. It was so nice getting to meet them since they couldn't come to the wedding because of some health issues. They were so adorable and I felt at home instantly. Grandpa is quite the talker, he's the first Adamson man that I met that liked to talk. Grandma made us a delicious lunch. It was great! We couldn't stay too long because we were so anxious to get home and see everyone, AKA mom/Jana.
I just about instantly felt comfortable at the Adamson home. It truly felt no different than being at the Eaton's. It was so nice spending time with them and getting to know them a little better. I honestly think we spend the most time with dad/Reed. Which was great because I love love love this man.
Our open house was on December 21st and it awesome. It's so fun meeting all the people your husband grew up with and all those that have influenced him on his path. We got a lot of nice gifts, mostly gift cards because we were traveling (which we love the most anyways), the food was delish, the decor was so nice, and the company was awesome. The only thing I hate is how much it stressed mom/Jana out. But her hard work paid off and it was great.
The next morning Brent and I drove into San Fransisco to take a mini-honeymoon. We had so much fun. It was so nice spending this time together. We went to fisherman's wharf, ghiradelli square, we walked to the golden gate bridge, we went to the wax museum, we sat outside by the fire, we even went to the "Full House" house. We had so much fun just being together. The next day we drove to Napa Valley and stayed at the cutest bed and breakfast ever. We fell in love with it and hope to stay there again in the same room. We didn't do a ton in Napa. We ate, we toured a winery, we mostly just hung out in our room, just relaxing. On Christmas Eve we went to the Jelly Belly Factory. I had been once before when I was 16 and Brent had never been. We had so much fun and ate so much! We were in Jelly Belly heaven. We again had so much fun. We headed back home before it got to late so we could eat dinner with the family. They also have a tradition of singing Christmas carols. It was nice because they suggested we call my family and sing to them. Then they sang back to us. We loved it.
Christmas morning with the Adamson's was calm compared to the Eaton's, actually everything was calmer at the Adamson's compared to the Eaton's. The kids and dad/Reed all made breakfast. This is a tradition they have. This might be the only part that I felt like an intruder. But it wasn't too bad. Then they all took turns opening presents. Brent got me a star necklace, that I absolutely love and an Ipod Touch! He definitely should get a best husband reward. Then from the parents I got a beautiful necklace with 2 circles intertwined with a note about mine and Brent's lives intertwining into one (I am wearing the necklace today), another set to my nativity, some super cute clothes that my sister in laws picked out, our first Christmas ornament, and a calendar. There may have been more but this is what I remember. I got Brent some clothes that a wife would approve of :), a book comic book thing that he wanted, and a diploma frame for his BYU diploma. His parents got him the Back to the Future trilogy on BlueRay, a robe, a calendar, cuff links and other things that I have already forgotten. It was a great Christmas. It would have been just as great without the gifts but we were grateful for them. It was a wonderful way to spend our first Christmas together.
I'm still unsure if they all love me or not. I've decided sisters are way harder than parents to make love you. I'm sure his parent's love me. And I know that one day, his sisters and I will be good friends, I just have to convince them of that :).

My perfect day wasn't perfect for everyone
I admit my wedding week was pure madness, from meeting the in laws for the first time, to being sick, and of course all the other little things that happen. Last night I was talking to one of my best friends ever. And we got on the subject of my wedding day and she said that she honestly didn't enjoy my wedding. I was pretty sad about this. She felt as if I was entirely selfish on that day.
I was peeved the day before. I had imagined most of my life that the day before my wedding I would spend with my best friends. And I did get to spend that night with them. I'm kinda a weirdo about lateness, it's one of my biggest pet peeves but I usually let it go and don't say anything. This day I didn't and I guess I should have. I was extremely grateful that they were able to come to be with me on that day.
The morning of the wedding my dear sisters, whom I love so so so much, were late getting there to do my hair. Again, with the lateness and I didn't let it go.
So in the end I was perfectly content with my day. Things were great to me. I, as I have mentioned in previous blogs, was overwhelmed with love at my sealing. But while I was feeling this way, others were feeling that they had to "walk on egg shells" around me. It makes me sad that they can't say they enjoyed the most joyous day of my life. Believe it or not, I actually thought I did fairly decently compared to others I've been around.
And at my reception I was having so much fun. I kept looking for one of my best friends to get there that never arrived, she left early. And I wasn't upset she left early. I was upset she didn't tell me she left early and I had to find out at my reception. So, many may believe I was completely unreasonable, and some may not even care to be my friend after it all, but it wasn't anger as much was it was hurt. So anyways, to all of you who put so much work into making the sealing and reception so great thank you. To all of you who hated it, I'm sorry. If I had the money I would refund your ticket, but unfortunately, I don't have any spare money.
Love!
