In-laws In, In-laws out

This past week we had very special visitors.....the older Adamson's. We are so glad that they came and stayed with us for a few days. They got here Wednesday night but the real fun started on Thursday. I was able to schedule my gender ultrasound for when they were here. It was so much fun. So Thursday Brent, Jana, Reed, and my mom accompanied me to find out what the fetus was. I was really anxious the fetus wasn't going to show us and at first it seemed like I would be right. It was so sweet seeing the image of our baby. I think I teared up a few times. He finally decided to let us see that he was a boy. He had his legs crossed at the ankles for the longest time. His little hands were up near his face. I fell a little more in love that day. My sweet baby boy. He was perfectly calm for the ultrasound and it made me think he may be a lot like his daddy. It was awesome being able to share that moment with our parents. I wish my daddy could have been there to see it too.
Afterwards we went to sun studios with Brent's parents. I've wanted to go there for a while so it was nice to finally go. The only downside was that it July and way too hot. But I really enjoyed myself. To cool off after we went to jerry's snowcones. Mmmmmmm, they are so so so yummy. They were exactly what we needed on that hot July day. It was also Jacks birthday so we all got together at James and Kara's for a small celebration. I thought it was very brave of the Adamson's to join in with the crazy Eaton family. Now they see what there son deals with. I think everyone had a great time. It started to rain and a lot of us went and played in the rain. It was so much fun. I love hanging out with family and it was even better having my family and some of Brent's together. Friday nothing too exciting happened during the day. I felt a little bad that they were stuck with me all day while Brent was gone. But they did go shopping and buy some adorable stuff for the baby. It was very sweet. I think they might just like this grandparent business :). That night we went and saw Harry Potter. It was super fun but a little sad since Harry Potter is now over.

A trip to Memphis wouldn't be a trip unless we went for BBQ. And that is what we did Saturday night. Yumm! I cooked most of our meals but we had to eat out at least once. We are in Memphis and Memphis is known for it's deliciousness. So we went to Fat Larry's. We started with some delicious fried pickles and then had some yummy ribs. I still hadn't got to go shopping and get the little one anything so on the way home we were able to stop at Target and I got him the cutest outfits.

Sunday was just that, Sunday. We went to church, ate, took naps, and ate some more. Just the way I like my Sabbath. Sadly, Monday came all to quickly and it was time for the Adamson's to leave. They were suppose to leave at 10 that morning but a flat tire delayed them a few hours and we had a little more time together.

All in all, I think it was a fantastic visit. I was tired a lot and sick a little, sorry Adamson's, but it was so nice hanging out with them. They now know that we are super boring people. Hopefully they got to know me a little better. And most importantly, they got to get a quick glimpse at their grandson.

It was my birthday

I'm officially 30! Crazy right. I had the chance to share my birthday with 3 very special little people in my life, Christopher, Riley, and Jack. We went to incredible pizza for some fun, and it was fun! The momma's with their birthday boys
Jack opening his present from me and Brent Christopher and his fun gifts, he was not interested in the picture

Riley with his awesome truck from nana and papa

Me and my awesome husband! Love this man.

Holding 3 squirmy little guys was not easy. Plus they all wanted their toys.

Cupcake time. Renee made super cute fish cupcakes!

Christopher is no stranger to sweets.

Jack and his big bite

Riley was too lazy to pick it up.

Christopher offering to help Jack eat his

After incredible pizza I went out with my friend Arianne for pedicures. When I got home later Brent had decorated and with brownie bites did this.

I loved the decorations. It was so nice of him to do this. He even gave me another card and bought me flowers. How did I get so dang lucky!

30, Oh My

I am no longer in my 20's. I'm sitting here remembering when 30 seemed old. Now, I know that it's actually young. I ended my 20's on a high note. I married someone who is perfect for me. He is the kindest, sweetest, most genuine person I've ever encountered. I didn't see this happening in my 20's but it did. And now, I feel like I'm starting my 30's out big too. 30 is the the age I become a mother.
15 years ago when I thought of being 30 I imagined things a bit differently. I would have been married for 10 years now, I'd have at least 4 of my 7 children. My husband would be done with school and we'd be celebrating this monumental birthday in Hawaii.
5 years ago when I thought of being 30 I also imagined things a bit differently. I'd be back in school or I'd be a fabulous career. And for this big birthday I'd be going on a fabulous trip with my girlfriends.
Then when I turned 29 I decided I'd go skydiving for my 30th birthday. But I guess that'll have to wait until another big birthday. Maybe my 40th birthday as long as I'm not pregnant then.
I've been very blessed in my life. I know this. I have a wonderful family that I was born into and I also have a wonderful family that I married into. I know they all think I'm a bit quirky at times but it's okay, I love them and they all love me. I've been blessed with Brent. I am blessed to have this baby growing inside of me. I,m blessed with friends who are the greatest ever, many of them are like family to me.

My Biggest Stress

So, I have a bit more time on my hands lately than I'm use to. It takes me a lot longer to accomplish things but I still have more free time. In my free time I often day dream on the future. I think about this sweet baby I have the chance to be a mother to. I think of Brent and I vacationing together. I think of all the future Christmases we will enjoy together. I think of all our other children. There are these grand thoughts and dreams of our future. I think of sending our sons on missions, of our daughters going off the college, traveling, and possibly marrying. I think of the first day of kindergarten and high school graduation. Then we are visiting our first grandchild. Holding that dear sweet baby remember the day we brought his dad home from the hospital.
Like I said, I daydream a lot. And I'm sure these lovely hormones play a part in it all as well. But in my day dreams I never know where we will live when we are done with school. I assume it will be either Jackson, Tn or Hughson, Ca but I'm just not sure. We love being near family and it's a lot of fun having the kids around. I want my children to grow up around their grandparents. I want them to know their aunts and uncles. And I know it's not something to stress out about now. We have 2 more years of schooling but it's still something to consider. I hate hate hate that no matter where we choose to live, it won't be near both families. This is the only downside to marrying Brent, he was from California. I guess it really shouldn't matter too much. I'm close to all my nieces and nephews and I don't live near all of them. I have always put a lot of effort into it. I try to go visit them. And when I am with them I try to make it special.
I'm sure it's ridiculous to stress over something so silly. Life always works out but it'd be nice to just know. Brent says he doesn't want to live in California but it makes me sad since that is where his family is. He says we'll probably just stay in Tn since this is where we met. It'd be easier if I knew this is where all my siblings would live too. Anyways, this is just silly nonsense. But like I said, this is the one thing I cry about the most. I'm ridiculous, don't judge!

Hot Hot Hot

Holy heck it's hot in Memphis and that makes me have little desire to cook. So I was trying to think of something yummy to make so I decided to make chicken salad and mmm, it is good!
Chicken, grapes, celery, pecans, bacon, fresh ginger, parsley and a few dashes of Worcestershire sauce mixed together equals a little bit of heaven.
Through the months of April-June, I didn't cook. It made me so sick. But my goal was to start cooking in July again. And so far I have. Sometimes I suck at it but I am trying. It rarely makes me sick and I am enjoying feeling like a good/decent wife again. July is a horrible month to cook in. So so so hot but we have to eat. And now that I'm not working we can't eat out as much because we have joined the ranks of being poor. But we are completely okay with that because I get to stay home and take care of our little one. I was asked not long ago if I could go back to work after the baby and my response even surprised me, "there's no way in hell I'll let someone else raise my child." I knew I wanted to be a stay at home mom, but I didn't know I felt that strongly.
Anyways, I'm going to go enjoy my oh so delicious chicken salad sandwich. I think I'll make some for when my in-laws are here. That will be a good light lunch.
