In-laws In, In-laws out

This past week we had very special visitors.....the older Adamson's. We are so glad that they came and stayed with us for a few days. They got here Wednesday night but the real fun started on Thursday. I was able to schedule my gender ultrasound for when they were here. It was so much fun. So Thursday Brent, Jana, Reed, and my mom accompanied me to find out what the fetus was. I was really anxious the fetus wasn't going to show us and at first it seemed like I would be right. It was so sweet seeing the image of our baby. I think I teared up a few times. He finally decided to let us see that he was a boy. He had his legs crossed at the ankles for the longest time. His little hands were up near his face. I fell a little more in love that day. My sweet baby boy. He was perfectly calm for the ultrasound and it made me think he may be a lot like his daddy. It was awesome being able to share that moment with our parents. I wish my daddy could have been there to see it too.
Afterwards we went to sun studios with Brent's parents. I've wanted to go there for a while so it was nice to finally go. The only downside was that it July and way too hot. But I really enjoyed myself. To cool off after we went to jerry's snowcones. Mmmmmmm, they are so so so yummy. They were exactly what we needed on that hot July day. It was also Jacks birthday so we all got together at James and Kara's for a small celebration. I thought it was very brave of the Adamson's to join in with the crazy Eaton family. Now they see what there son deals with. I think everyone had a great time. It started to rain and a lot of us went and played in the rain. It was so much fun. I love hanging out with family and it was even better having my family and some of Brent's together. Friday nothing too exciting happened during the day. I felt a little bad that they were stuck with me all day while Brent was gone. But they did go shopping and buy some adorable stuff for the baby. It was very sweet. I think they might just like this grandparent business :). That night we went and saw Harry Potter. It was super fun but a little sad since Harry Potter is now over.

A trip to Memphis wouldn't be a trip unless we went for BBQ. And that is what we did Saturday night. Yumm! I cooked most of our meals but we had to eat out at least once. We are in Memphis and Memphis is known for it's deliciousness. So we went to Fat Larry's. We started with some delicious fried pickles and then had some yummy ribs. I still hadn't got to go shopping and get the little one anything so on the way home we were able to stop at Target and I got him the cutest outfits.

Sunday was just that, Sunday. We went to church, ate, took naps, and ate some more. Just the way I like my Sabbath. Sadly, Monday came all to quickly and it was time for the Adamson's to leave. They were suppose to leave at 10 that morning but a flat tire delayed them a few hours and we had a little more time together.

All in all, I think it was a fantastic visit. I was tired a lot and sick a little, sorry Adamson's, but it was so nice hanging out with them. They now know that we are super boring people. Hopefully they got to know me a little better. And most importantly, they got to get a quick glimpse at their grandson.

The highlight of our trip was being there at the ultrasound to get our first glimpse of Elijah. That was a very sweet moment. But we had fun the entire time and you are such a great cook! Yummy food and fun company. I did feel like I got to know you better. Thanks for making our visit so pleasant!
