I promise any adult that works in a school system is more excited than the students when the phone call comes and you hear, "School is out tomorrow." That is pure joy. I instantaneously start making a list of all the things I need to accomplish. I can run errands I have been putting off. I can rearrange my apartment. I can do anything. And on top of it all I can stay up late! Oh the beauty. Of course it is short lived and naturally I accomplish almost nothing on my list of to do's. For some reason I don't catch up on my rest, I don't get the closet cleaned out, I don't do anything out of the ordinary.
I loved my snow days. Monday, I woke up and thought, "I should make Brent breakfast in bed". While I was cooking he woke up and that was that. James called when I was just about done cooking and invited us there for breakfast. So we took what I had made and headed over to eat breakfast with the birthday girl, Elle Kate. Then we went out and made snow angels, had a snow ball fight, and made a snow man. We headed home for the morning. I went to Costco with James and Kara. After Elle decided she wanted to come over to our place. Then while looking at our engagement pictures on the carousal stated she wanted to ride the carousal on her birthday. I needed to go to the mall anyways so we went. The stores I needed to go to closed because of the weather! But we got a cookie and rode the carousal, and Elle was happy.
Monday night I got a phone call saying we would be out Tuesday too. I was so happy. Brent was not out but I was still so happy to be at home. I decided to make a few dinners so I could just heat them up on the night I was going to cook them. Charity came over and we went and worked out. Then we got Elle and headed to the mall. I needed to get Charity a bday present. Mission accomplished. We went back to my apartment and hung out. I went visiting teaching. While I was gone Brent got home and Robert came over. So when I got home we had dinner. I was praying for another school closing phone call but knew it was too much to ask. You can only get so lucky.
So yesterday I went back to work. It was a long hard day! It was busy busy busy. But at the end of it I was so grateful to have a job. I'm blessed. I found out the Social Security office lost all my paperwork for my new card. That's a pain because it takes a long time there. I work full time so it is never opened when I am off. So the first time Charity went and stood in line for 45 minutes. I was so frustrated that she wasted her time. So Jenn and Levi came over last night and said they would go for me today. She went to the office and they were experiencing some technical delays so she left and said she'd try again tomorrow. I sure hope this time it works.
