Anyways we had a busy day on Saturday. I woke up at 6am so I would be able to get completely ready before the kids got out of bed and start breakfast. I was planning on taking Ginny and Aubree to the Jackson spellingbee. I think it's good for kids to see this kind of thing. Will was going to stay at home with Papa. As it turns out, we drove to the spellingbee only to get there and find they had moved locations. We decided not to go since we would be so late. We went to the grocery store to pick up the stuff for dad's birthday dinner and also to make him a candy gram from the kids.
We went back home, then papaw called and wanted us to come over. Before we left I thought I better feed the kids. As I was making their lunch Aubree was sitting in the kitchen and asked me if I hated kids. WHAT?!?!?! In my mind I started thinking, have I been really mean today? Am I not a nice aunt? Etc. So I asked her why should would say that. And told her how much I loved kids. She said that her mom hates kids besides the ones that she knows. I felt much better that she didn't think I was a horrible mean child hating person. I fed them, loaded them up and drove to papaws. I didn't want to stay too long because I wanted to get home so I could finish dinner before dad had to leave to go to Nashville to pick up mom. So we stayed a few hours and then left. Will woke up entirely too early for the day and had only a 30 minute nap so he was being a little terror. But we got home and I finished a delicious dinner. The house needed to be cleaned. Dad hadn't cleaned it in the 2 weeks mom was gone. I thought my sweet nieces would help and Ginny did. Aubree got attacked by a rooster so when I asked her to help she said to me, "Let me ask you something, if you were attacked by a rooster would your still help?" I let her off the hook because it was probably just easier to do it myself. We watched the movie G-force and when dad headed to the airport that night we decided to start getting ready for his bday. We made him this fun candy gram from the kids. We blew up ballons and hung them around the house! The kids loved it. Then I had to reclean the living room but I thought it was worth it.
We were in bed by the time my parents got home but dad did love his candy gram! I'm glad he had a good birthday. I got steaks to cook and a nice fresh salad and potatoes. Jake grilled, mom made rolls and mac & cheese and we enjoyed the time. Nae, Jake and Sister Knox came. The day ended rough, that's Nae's story to tell, but overall it was very nice.

I love how Aubrey was so rational..."If you got attacked by a rooster..." The candy gram was cute. Dad e-mailed me pictures and I loved it. I miss those kids a ton. Glad to hear you don't hate kids.
