1st Bridal Shower

Yesterday after school my friend/coworker Stacey gave me my 1st bridal shower. It was at school and of course the whole faculty was invited. Ms. Elaine, the principal, even let us have the party in lieu of our normal staff meeting and just emailed us out notes on what the staff meeting would be on.
I was a little overwhelmed with the thought of a work shower. I didn't want people to feel obligated to come or get me a gift but it turned out perfect. I got lots of fun and useful presents. The best part was they had them all opened and displayed when I came in so I didn't have to sit there awkwardly and open gifts in front of people. There were no speeches just people eating and socializing with each other.
I work with a lot of really great people. They are the people that I see 5 days a week. They are some of the constants in my life. And at times I complain about my job but I love these people. I'm glad that I got to celebrate my new beginning with these people. Some are just coworkers, some are friends but they all hold a special place to me. Most genuinely care about me and each other. I know they don't read my blog but I want to thank them anyways.
Thank them for the gifts, for the friendship, and for being a part of who I am. There is no other work place I would want to celebrate this with other than them. I'm incredibly grateful for them.
Stacey put a lot of hard work into it. She had the perfect invites, It was the picture of me and Brent with the words I love him written on my hand and underneath it said,
Engagement pictures- $250
Shoes to wear under the dress- $100
Finding the right man- Priceless
How cute is that. She made sure I had all my favorite desserts there, she found the perfect napkins (and I know this sounds silly but she knows me well enough that when the person she assigned napkins to brought the "wrong" ones she went and took care of it herself), I even had mints there with the letter A.
Funny enough someone got me monogrammed towels with the letter A on them and at first I was real confused. Then I remember my new last name will be Adamson, I can't wait.

Decorations were so super cute
The treats were amazing!
Cheesecake bites. It was nice that before I even got there they had the gifts opened and displayed.
I got 2 laundry baskets! People must really think I should do laundry more often.
I was so grateful for everything.
The mother of the bride came too. Thanks mom. I'm glad you were there.
Stacey made this all happen. She is such a great friend. Not only did she host my shower she also listens to me complain on a very regular basis.

Wicked!

This past Saturday night my oh so wonderful fiance' took me to see Wicked! I did see it last year but it was even better this year. I'm not sure if it was because I caught onto the foreshadowing or because our seats were only 10 rows back. I really think it is because I got to see it with Brent. And being with him makes everything just a little more Enjoyable. I really do love this man. I know you can all make fun of for the things I've said in the past. I remember saying so many times you can't love someone in that short of a time period, you don't even know them, etc etc etc. But I am grateful everyday for being proved wrong. I look forward to sharing every experience with him, the good and the bad....but mostly the good. He is the kindest man I've ever met. He loves me in spite of myself and believe me he has seen my worst self. I love you Brent. I can't wait to start our eternity! Before the show @ Charity's apartment. He was so cute. When I got in the car he had me a present waiting in the car. What was it you may ask, A blueray copy of Beauty and the Beast. My favorite Disney movie. Along with a cute but cheesy note.

I love his goofy smile when I kiss him. He may be the dorkiest guy I've dated but man do I love him.

Us at the Orpheum during intermission. Wish we would have gotten a really good picture outside but we were almost late and afterwards it was too crazy. I think we are pretty dang cute together.

Old Text

I was looking through some old text messages and I found one that was to Charity in July. It said, it just hit me that I will not be married in my 20's. The very next month I was engaged! Guess you really don't control all things in your life.

WARNING: This is a little, maybe a lot, MUSHY

I am not a big fan of mushy. Maybe in movies but in real life it makes me cringe just a little bit. But here recently I have been that girl. The one one that thinks super mushy things and would actually enjoy saying them out loud. I won't, because most of the people I am around would either cringe (they are my friends) or they would make fun of me (they are my family).
But I will say, I love him. And each day, I love him more. And I miss him on the days I don't see him. And on the days I do, I hate having to leave at the end. I never wanted to be one of those girls who fell in love so fast but I did. And he is the right person for me. I don't believe in there just being one person out there for each of us but now that I have Brent, I couldn't imagine it being anyone else. I love thinking that we get to not only spend the rest of our lives together but we have eternity. And I'm sure at times there will be moments when I don't want to spend another minute with him but I know that there will be more good times than bad.
Brent is the calmest person I've ever met. He is a white personality with a lot of yellow. The yellow doesn't show until you get to know him but it's there. We have the same sense of humor, though I think I am funnier :). We laugh a lot! We have so much fun together. At times he thinks I am absolutely ridiculous, and I am! But he knows when I am being completely serious. And when I am being a little, or completely, irrational, he lets me finish before giving his opinion. He is so patient and kind. He's nothing like the man I had thought in my head was the man of my dreams but he's better. He is perfect for me. I truly look forward to every good and bad time we will have. Because there is no one else I want to experience all this with.
NOW, IF ONLY NOVEMBER WILL GET HERE SO I CAN MARRY THIS MAN! IT'S A GOOD THING HE IS PATIENT, BECAUSE I AM NOT!

I do not like it

I do not like all this wedding planning business. Mostly I find it overpriced and way too stressful. To be quite honest this is how I think it should work.....you should meet a nice man/woman....fall in love.....get engaged....then get married immediately. What is with all this waiting around business. I know some of you think the whole engagement part is fun. But I do not like it. I do not like it one tiny bit. Actually, I do like one part of it. I like that I get to wear a pretty dress. Not just any pretty dress but a dress that Candice is making just for me. Because if she wasn't making my dress I'm thinking I would be looking for someone's dress to borrow, wearing one of my sisters, or getting the $99 from David's bridal. For Candice to make it, it cost me the price of the plane ticket, and then $300 for supplies and materials. Well it might be more than that but for now that is all. She actually hasn't went and got the stuff yet.

But just for the stupid bra thingy to go under the dress was $70, good thing someone let me borrow their slip or that would have been another $100. I know how I want my hair done but I don't know who is going to do it yet. I'm just wearing flat shoes under my dress.

Yes, I know I am complaining. But all I can think about is wow, that cost a lot of money. And we don't even have any furniture. So that makes things a little crazy too. But at least I think we found a place to live. Though I will be commuting to and from work. And while I've did it in the past I am not looking forward to it all.

It's a good thing I love this boy because otherwise I think I would gladly stay single, FOREVER.
