Valentines Day Weekend

Really, there is no point in me owning a camera, I rarely take pictures any more. But this past weekend I did have fun. A lot of fun. Friday night I drove to Memphis, how many of my weekends have started with that sentence? Anyways, I went to James and hung out with them for a bit before I headed to the store to pick up the stuff for my fondue party. It wasn't really just my fondue party because Ben helped orchestrate it and we had it at Allison's apartment but whatever. I made some delicious chocolate fondue. About 25 people showed up and it was super crowded so some of us escaped to the bedroom. I mentioned how I never took pictures so Anne pulled out her camera and here we are. This is Arianne, Mandy, and Brenna. Chilling in the bedroom as well. I made a bedroom confession that I wanted to go on a date with Brent. I probably should tell him and not everyone else but whatever. I do not care, that much anyways. This is actually on Valentines day. We will call it Valentines 2010. We got a small group together made dinner and then played lots of fun games. Pictured below would be Ernestine, Brent, Me, Ben, Jared, Neal, and Allison. Unfortunately not pictured is Anne who took the picture. Our only real picture from the night. I noticed a few minutes into the dinner that besides me all the girls were on one side of the table and the boys on the other. If Brent and I would have switched seats that would have been how it worked.
It was a fun day. I hope everyone had fun. Anyways, just a quick update.

A-Z because I can

Age: 343 months, to the day this week.
Bed size: Queen. I share it with my lovely laptop that sleeps with me on most nights.
Chore I hate: I hate putting laundry away. So my mother out of kindness will do my laundry and put it on my bed. This usually upsets me because that means I have to put it away. But when I decide to do my own laundry then I can mentally prepare to put it away. Yes it's silly but I need to be able to prepare. I have since put my laundry basket where my mother won't be tempted.
Dog's name: No dog at the time but I am going to get one in the next year or 2.
Essential to start my day: Brushing my teeth. I strongly dislike morning mouth.
Favorite color: Apple green, pink, blue
Gold or silver: Silver
Height: 5'5 or 5'6
I am: Currently at work. Excited for my cruise.
Job: I am the Coordinated School Health Director in Bells TN

Mom's name: Porla Diane

Overnight hospital stay: When I was young but not since I've been an adult.
Pet peeve: Tardiness, not getting my way.
Quote from a movie: "when you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.” - When Harry Met Sally
"Have you ever wondered if there was more to life, other than being really, really, ridiculously good looking?" or " Well I guess it all started the first time I went through the second grade. I caught my reflection in a spoon while I was eating my cereal, and I remember thinking "wow, you're ridiculously good looking, maybe you could do that for a career." - Zoolander
Right or left handed: Left handed. The only one out of my siblings.
Siblings: Renee', Michael, James, Rebekah, and Charity. Then I have in laws whom I love like siblings, Jake, Amy, Kara, and Rob.
Time I wake up: 5:40am, and most days I do it without an alarm.
Unique thing about my car: It really misses its previous owners. It wants the kids to ride in it's back seats again.
Vegetable I hate: Yea, I hate a lot of veggies. I try to eat them but don't love.
Ways I run late: See pet peeve above, I am very rarely late.
X-rays I've had: Chest for pneumonia and when my arm broke.
Yummy food I make: I try to keep people under the impression that I don't cook.

I have great friends

This past Saturday I went to Lambert's with some of the greatest girls ever. They are so fun. It has taken me a long time to make friends in Tennessee but these were worth the wait. Ernestine is moving soon but that's okay. I know we will keep in touch. I've always been blessed with super great friends.

Oh Happy Days

Today is one of those days where everything feels alright. I realize most of my blog post seem kinda down so I thought I would write and say, everything is good in my life. I leave in 2 weeks for Florida! I get to spend a couple days with one of my best friends, Lindsay, then I get to go cruisin with another one of my best friends, Amy. I'm blessed with good friends and I'm lucky that most of them are in my family.
Things at work are looking more positive. I may have a job here next year. I love my job and feel like it's a really positive work environment. I'll keep writing my legislatures just so they don't forget about coordinated school health. But I'm okay with that. I love that kind of stuff.
Anyways, thought I would say I'm happy!

Courage

I ran across this quote just a minute ago and knew I needed to write it down, "It takes courage to grow up and become what you really are". I really like this. A whole lot. Maybe it's because I'm not really sure what it is that I am really am. Maybe I'm not grown up at all. When do we really "grow up". I wouldn't say there is a certain event or age that it magically happens. You don't go to bed one night and wake up grown the next morning. I want to have the courage to grow up and become what I really am.

What does this mean to you?!?!?!
