Brent's Fishing Experience

I tried to get Brent to update this for me and these were his words, "It was good." I wasn't there so I can't say too much about it. I stayed in the house where there is cool air and good food. Dad asked Brent if he wanted to "wet a hook" and Brent obliged. Brent was never a big fisher, not a lot of opportunity, but we are determined to make a country man out of him yet. Of course, the only fishing poles they had to use were the barbie one and the spiderman one. They weren't gone too long but Brent caught 3 and dad caught 0! It must have been the spiderman fishing pole. I imagine one day Brent will take our kids to the same small pond and fish. Most of my nieces and nephews have fished in it, all my brothers and sisters and I have and I can only assume future generations will. It's fun to think of it that way. I know whether we live here or not, we'll definitely visit a lot and let our kids experience the way I grew up. I didn't always embrace it, I don't like to get too hot but I'm glad that I had the chance to live in the country. It was full of good times and adventures.

Happy and Busy

There are some days that I am so exhausted I'm not sure how I am going to make it one more! Then there are days that I am great! Today, I'm in between the two. Yesterday on my way home from work, I was so tired. Tired enough that I started to cry. I put in the CD I made for Brent for Valentine's day to get my mind off of being tired. And then I cried because I knew how lucky I was (and probably from being tired). I feel so incredibly blessed. There hasn't been a day that goes by in the last 6 months (well almost 6, 4 days short) that I haven't felt blessed. I don't want to write an overly mushy blog but I do want to say I feel lucky. Brent is still as nice to me as he was on our first date. He still opens my car door, he still rubs my feet every time we sit on the couch, he rubs my back just about every night, he wakes up every morning before I leave and walks me out to my car. When it's cold he starts my car, a lot of the time, he'll fix my lunch. He gently reassures me when I am stressed, he calms my crazy. I still get excited to see him everyday! I'm blessed. I know it's only been 6 months, but I still can't believe how happy I am!
Onto another note, Candice is in Jackson and I'm super excited to hang out with her tomorrow. I guess no matter how old you get, playing with your best friends is still so much fun! I got to see her for a little bit at Jamar (her brother)'s wedding reception but I haven't got to hang out with her. She's probably one of the most amazing people I know. She is not only beautiful and talented but genuinely a good person.
We've had a lot going on since the last time I blogged. We've been able to hang out with family. Amy and Michael and their family came for a week. It was so fun seeing them. Charity and I took a quick trip to Nashville. I had a work conference and she was nice enough to come with me. Riley was so cute in the pool.
We are still teaching those precious sunbeams and mostly loving it. Brent being the fantastic husband that he is has even started helping with the lessons. Most of our class prefers him over me. I caught a bug and was sick for a few days. Bleh, it was no fun! It zapped my energy for a while.
We are really excited for this summer. I'm planning on going to New Jersey to visit Michael, Amy and family. I hope it works out where I can. Brent's parents are coming to visit us in July! It should be lots of fun even if it will be miserably hot. I think we will tour Sun Studios. I hear it is really fun and maybe even get to go to Graceland. But mostly I think we will stay indoors where the sun won't fry us. I'm excited to get to know them better. We've only been around each other at very stressful times ie the wedding and Christmas. I'm also excited for them to get to know me. Hopefully they leave still thinking Brent made a wise decision. And who knows, maybe they will fall madly in love with TN.....I said maybe.

Happy Birthday

Today is a special day, it's the day that my cute husband was born and I'm so glad to get to celebrate it with him this year! It is also our 5 month anniversary. Not in a bad way, but in a very good way, I feel like we've been married much longer than that.

I am the luckiest girl in the world to be married to someone as kind and patient as Brent. Not only he is kind and patient but he's also smart, funny, considerate, cute, nice and I could keep going but these are the big ones. Not only do I love him but my nieces and nephews here in TN have become especially fond of him. They love love love playing with Uncle Brent. Jack, James and Kara's little one, prefers him over me. I know that he will be such a good daddy!

Last year Brent celebrated his birthday at PF Changs and I was part of the celebration though I'm positive we didn't say 10 words to each other. This year, his Birthday is also Easter so we went out a little early. Much to the shock and quite possibly dismay of his parents Brent asked for a handgun for his birthday. I obliged, you can never be too careful and I like the idea of us having a gun. We haven't bought it yet but we will.

Places I want to go

Greece would be just lovely. Not really sure why but I've wanted to go to Africa for a very long time. An African safari would be awesome. Africa has so many beautiful and majestic animals. I made Brent promise to take me to Italy when he graduates and I am holding him to it.I want to go to Tahiti or to Bali That's enough dreaming for one day. I better get back to work!

What, it's April, What happen to March

Wow, most weeks I feel go by so slowly but then before I know it, the month is past and I'm left wondering, what did I accomplish the month before! March was a great month and we had lots of fun. This past week was my spring break so I was able to craft a bit. I also got a trial week membership to Kara's gym and I was able to work out with her and with Ari a lot. I loved the gym but it's not in our budget. Too bad, because it was so super nice. I enjoyed sleeping in past 5am, hanging out with my friends and family and not being exhausted when Brent got home in the evenings. While my week was busy and fun, Brent had a pretty stressful week. He had a few test plus his clinical checkout was this past Friday. Needless to say, most of his week was spent in the lab and studying! I missed him not hanging out with me but he is sure he passed and that means in a few weeks, maybe 5, he will get to start seeing patients. His second year, which is considered the hardest, is almost over. He will be a 3rd year the second week of May. Wow, that is so super soon. I was a good wife and went to the school with him a few times and let him practice on me. I'll be glad for his second year to end. Though, I am positive the 3rd and 4th year will be stressful too. For his 4th year he gets to choose 2 extern sites and he has to do 1 at SCO in the clinic. I told him, way long ago, before we were married, that I wanted him to try to set one up in California. They are 4 month rotations and it'd be fun to live near his family for those months and for me to check Cali out if it's going to be on the table for me to spend the rest of my life there. Most externships are at set locations and you just choose but there happens to not be any in the Sacramento area. You can try to get one set up but my dear husband, decided he didn't want to ask so it's not even a possibility any more. I really wish he would have! Oh well, I guess it's his choice. He wants to do all 3 of them in the Memphis area. Also, this past week we had our first house guest over the age of 10. We are very use to having kids stay with us but we actually had grown-ups stay with us. Ben Dixon and Allison Hoffman both flew in to take their last set of boards for Optometry. It was super fun having them stay with us. Allison was so cute with all the little baby nephews! We mostly just chilled but that worked for us. Hopefully we didn't bore them too much. Nothing too new is going on in our lives. Things are going great! We are still blissfully happy, it even makes me gag sometimes at how incredibly happy and mushy I've become. Marriage is way better than I could have ever imagined! I couldn't be happier. I know that I am one of the luckiest girls alive! On a very cute side note, my mother has decided she is ready for an Adamson grandchild. I told her we can't afford it, diapers are expensive, so being the very clever mother that is she, she has started buying diapers for us. So we will have a good reservoir when we do have a baby. She's so cute. I actually like that she tries to get us to have a kid. Our plan all along was to start trying in July or August of this year. That isn't too far away. That would make it where I could work another school year to support our family. Motherhood sounds so exciting and challenging. Hopefully 2012 will be good to us.
