I was thinking today how much I appreciate my older sister Renee. She is such a great person and sometimes we forget to let her know how much we appreciate her. She's always willing to help others and tries to make other people happy.
I sometimes like to aggravate her and for this I am kinda sorry. I would say that I'm not going to do it anymore but I know that is a lie. She is a very fair person and is family oriented.
Nae, thanks for being you! I love and appreciate what you do to contribute to my life. I know we don't always agree on things but thanks for respecting my opinions anyways. Sorry for being a buggerbutt sometimes but it's because I love you or maybe it's because sometimes that's just who I am.
Oh, and I love your kids too. I love the way they are so fun and cute. I love playing with them and hanging out with them. So far, your doing an okay job raising them.

My Half Birthday
So today is my half birthday. I am 27 ½. So I decided to write 27 ½ life lessons. Enjoy. I know most of these are givens but I had to learn them.
1. I’ve learned that most people are passionate about their beliefs, even the ones you don’t like. You have to learn tolerance and learn to love them despite of these issues.
2. I’ve learned that you need to get outside of your comfort zone. You have to put yourself out there in order for things to happen. You can’t sit on the bench and expect life to come to you.
3. I’ve learned that you can not become complacent in life. If you are there then you are not progressing.
4. I’ve learned you always have to be your best self. You never know who is watching and what they are learning.
5. I’ve learned you should be kind to everyone. “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a harder battle”-Plato
6. I’ve learned you have to have priorities and you have to know what they are. Keep them in front of you even when it gets hard.
7. I’ve learned that you have to set your standards high. “Shoot for the stars, you may not get one but you won’t get a handful of dirt either”
8. I’ve learned that we all fail in life (oh have I learned this) and we have to keep going. We must be able to learn from these experiences.
9. I’ve learned that no matter how hard you try, you can’t make someone love you back. All you can do is be someone who can be loved.
10. I've learned that no matter how much I care some people just don't care back.
11. I’ve learned that people are more important than material things.
12. I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influence on who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
13. I’ve learned that we control how we feel, not others. We are responsible for these feelings. Laughing, crying, joy and anger… All are a vital, we are only human. And if I feel angry that doesn’t give me the right to hurt others. Once something is said, there is no taking it back. It's out there.
14. I’ve learned that age has little to do with maturity. It depends on the type of experience you have and if you learn from them. We’ve got to let ourselves learn from each life experience.
15. I've learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
16. I’ve learned that I am my biggest critic. I need to see more good in myself then others will too.
17. I’ve learned that in life we get our heart broken. When this happens, and it happens, the world keeps moving. Time heals all wounds, regardless of how I feel at the time.
18. I’ve learned life is short. We have to make memories and take pictures along the way. One day we will look back on these pictures and tell the stories behind them to people that we love.
19. I’ve learned that when you are with your best friend(s) it doesn’t matter what you do. It’s always fun. You can sit and watch TV together and it’s a good time. And sometimes you revert back to the giddy ways of a teenager.
20. I've learned that it's taking me a lot longer than I thought to become the person I want/need to be.
21. I’ve learned even if think you have nothing left to give; you will be willing to give to a friend or family member in need.
22. I’ve learned even when you think you can’t keep going; you have to keep going. We are always glad we did even if we are just glad that it’s over.
23. I’ve learned that there are some people who love you who just don’t know how to show you. I’m not talking about romantic but family.
24. I’ve learned that being a grown up is way harder than it looked when I was growing up.
25. I’ve learned that my family members are truly my allies. They are among my best friends. I’m lucky to have them.
26. I’ve learned that it’s easy to give advice but hard to take it. Or if you’re me I give advice that I would never follow myself.
27. I’ve learned there are always going to be excuses and reasons not to do things. But if you’re smart you will live your life and get past these things.
And to make it 27 ½ I am putting one that I am still trying to learn. I’m learning that if you never act, you will never know.

Just for Today
Dear Abby did this and I really liked the idea. So I changed it to fit me and here it is.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will live for today. I will not worry about what happened yesterday or what may or may not happen tomorrow. Carpe diem!
JUST FOR TODAY, I will be happy. I will think happy thoughts, I will look at the world through those rose colored glasses that I hate. Because I deserve a day in which everything just works, even if it is in my head. I will be happy because I am the person who I've become. This is a gift.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will face my fears. I will not be afraid of rejection or failure. I will walk a little taller, be a little bolder, and pretend like everything is perfect. I will be brave.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will take a chance. I will make the phone call that I usually would leave unmade. I will say yes when I usually would have said no.
JUST FOR TODAY, I will become my best self. I will be my own ideal. I will say and do the right things. I will be agreeable, I will improve my appearance, I will be courteous. I will only improve myself and leave everyone else alone for the day.

Once it's said, it's said
Well I have debated on whether to say this out loud to everyone or just keep it to myself. My number one goal in 2009. I tested it out by saying it to my family and there was a mixed response. So here I go, my goal in 2009 is to get me a man for the eternities! There it is, out in the open. Now you all know. Wow, I don't know if I feel relieved or just plain stupid for admitting it.Here's the thing, I'm at the point in my life where I feel ready for this. I have accomplished other goals. I know that this goal is a little crazy. I have little control over it. I can't force anyone to ask me on a date, to want to continue to date me, to want to give me a ring, take me to the temple and want to spend eternity with me as their companion. But I am thinking 2009 is my year to shine.
When saying this goal out loud to my family, a few ignored it or at least had no response to it. I know I have to work on improving myself. I went to the temple this past Saturday. I went to the 9am session. Unfortunately not enough people showed up so we had to do sealings. I had never done these before and really wasn't planning on doing them until I was sealed to someone myself. But it turned out to be really nice. I thought it was a good way to start the year. Especially the year that I plan on hopefully meeting my eternal companion.
Okay, it's been said. Just a recap, 2008 was a pretty good year. I went on dates with a few really wierd guys and then some really good guys. There was Ben there at the end. I really liked him and still think he is pretty incredible. Too bad he doesn't like me. It's okay, I'm not asking for any pity. It was fun playing with him. It gives me the hope that there are really good guys out there. Guys that are worth spending your time on. The kind of guy that when you think about him, you have to smile because that's just who he is. Maybe I still have a crush?!?!
Well everyone, now that you know my goal, know that I will get discouraged at times, I'm sure it is leaving me in a very vulnerable place. I could be setting myself up for disappointment and failure. But, I'm trying and I know it is a righteous desire. Heck, it's a commandment. I'm not the only one who has this goal this year. I am hoping this year proves to be a year worth remembering. A year that when I look back I can't help but to become a little giddy or emotional because it was such a great year. Wish me luck!

Goals in 2009
So I've been thinking about my goals in 2009. I want to make realistic ones but also ones that will not be the easiest things. So here are a few:
1. To eat healthier. I try so hard.
2. To go to the temple at least once a month. This won't be so hard. I use to go weekly but what can I say, Life happened.
3. This one I will post after I make my blog private. So please give me your email addresses so I can invite you in. I have told several people already. I'm serious about this one. This is top priority!!!
4. To be happier with who I am.
6. To be more honest with myself and others. I'm not a liar but I need to work on telling people how I feel. If it makes me happy or sad I need to be able to express this.
